Per NY Daily News:
Brett Favre turns 41 years old Sunday, and a Deadspin report claiming that two years ago he sent pictures of himself in his birthday suit to a former Jets game-day hostess is probably not the present he had in mind. And now he has the NFL on his tail.
Favre has refused comment on the alleged voicemails and pictures of his private parts that the sports website claims he sent to Jenn Sterger in 2008 when he played for the Jets and she was with the team, but he soon may have to provide answers to Roger Goodell.
The NFL is investigating Favre’s reported behavior and it becomes an even bigger story with Favre returning to the New York area Sunday with the Vikings for Monday night’s game against the Jets. Deadspin reported the story in August and this week supplemented it with voicemails and pictures.
Friday, Deadspin also reported that while he was a Jet, Favre pursued two female massage therapists who worked for the team at the time. The report also said one of the women exchanged phone numbers with Favre and that the other woman told the website that the quarterback sent “nasty” text messages and invited the women to his hotel room.
“Yes. We are reviewing the matter,” NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said in an email Friday, before the story about the massage therapists broke.
When Favre was asked about the Sterger matter on Thursday, he said, “I’m not getting into that. I’ve got my hands full with the Jets.”
He then took the next question. The Vikings did not include the exchange in their transcript of the news conference.
If the NFL finds that Favre acted inappropriately, he could be subject to a suspension under the league’s personal conduct policy. Deadspin reported that Favre sent voicemails to Sterger, 26, and then X-rated photos of himself. It was also reported that Favre told Sterger that a Jets media relations manager would give her his number or ask for hers.
Jesse Derris, a Jets spokesman, said the team had no knowledge of the photos or messages Favre allegedly sent to Sterger when he was with the Jets. “This is something that supposedly took place two years ago,” he said. “The first the team heard of it was on Deadspin.”
The Jets looked into it and said no member of its public relations department had been involved in the matter.
