Per Bleacher Report:
It’s only been two drives, but the New York Jets have already done what no other team in the league has done this season – establish the run.
The Steelers are giving up an average of 60 yards rushing per game, a stat that you have to search as far back as the 1940’s to find better results against the run.
The Jets (36 yards rushing) have already reached over half of the Steelers average in the first two drives, and if it weren’t for untimely penalties, the numbers would have been higher.
The difference between the Steelers run defense with and without Troy Polamalu is the difference of over a full yard per carry more.
